Memories from our Summer Vacation

Ty and Jason playing in the fountains

My sweet friend, Colleen

This summer we made our annual trip up to Washington to visit friends and family. We've been doing it now for the past 10 years, driving the last 7 of them. We always have a great time, and our whole family looks forward to it each year. A 20 hour road trip with 4 small children may not sound enticing, but it's just because you haven't done it before :). We made a couple of different stops this year. On our way up we stopped in Portland, Oregon to meet up with one of my favorite friends from college. I hadn't seen Colleen in way too many years, and she was able to drive over from central Oregon to spend the afternoon with us. We met her at this great, little city park called Jefferson Square. It's in downtown Portland, and there are giant water fountains for the kids to play in. Sorry, my pictures really don't do it justice. The girls and Ty loved it! There's also a super yummy sandwich shop on one corner of the park (I think the best sandwich I've ever had) and an amazing ice-cream parlor on another corner. What more can you ask for?
