Ty-Ty

Tyler Stephen . . . Age 17 months. My sweet boy. Everyone told me I would love having a boy, that it was so different from girls. I'm not sure I believed them until God blessed us with our precious little guy. Ty has a laugh like none other. It is absolutely contagious. Megan asked me a few weeks ago if we could put his laugh in a jar because she wanted to save it forever. He is honestly the happiest baby we have ever met. He smiles almost non-stop. He loves to jump and jump and jump. He is incredibly ticklish and loves to be tickled. We're confident God has amazing plans for his little life. Ty had a stroke while I was pregnant with him; it left him with a mild case of cerebral palsy and an eye condition called optic nerve hypoplasia. His right eye will probably be completely blind, but so far his left eye is developing really well. He wears glasses to protect his good eye and to help keep his eyes centered. He has a variety of therapies to help with the CP, and he is making amazing progress. He has quite a few developmental delays, but we're excited about what he's learning. He's getting very close to walking. His left side is affected by the CP, so he has to work really hard. His foot is doing great, though he still doesn't use his left hand for anything (yet). He loves to be up and about, and I expect he'll be walking pretty well in the next month or so. It's so funny to watch him because even though he is behind in a lot of areas, he is still a "little brother." He LOVES to pull Nicole's hair whenever he has the chance. He gets into anything the girls leave on the floor, and he pounds on everything like it's a drum. He's definitely all boy! What a treasure he is; we can't wait to see how the Lord will use him!
